consumer FAQ's

How do I use txttrans on my mobile?
Very easily.
If the company you are trying to use has the txttrans service enabled and you can access the internet on your mobile, type the address directly into your phone's internet browser. Alternatively, you can initiate the service by sending a text message. See an example here.

Is my mobile compatible?
Most likely.
Most handsets that have been produced in the last 2 years are able to access the internet. If you have got Vodafone Live, O2 Active, Orange World or Web 'n' walk from TMobile then you have the internet on your phone already. If not, a simple call to your network operator can set it up for you.

Is the txttrans service expensive to use?
No.
txttrans is not a premium rate service, so you pay standard network charges. To initiate the service it will cost you a standard text (or even free), plus a small data charge, which depending on your operator bundle, may also be free or only cost a few pence.

Do I have to download anything onto my mobile?
No.
txttrans uses the mobile internet. One of our unique features is that you do not have to download or store anything on your phone.
This means as soon as you have finished your activity, no details are left behind on your mobile. So even if the phone was to get lost, your information would still be safe.

What about security?
In our business you can never have too much security.
The transaction is verified and conducted with your card issuer in real-time and nothing is stored on your phone.
We use at least the same security measures as you would expect online with the internet, as well as verifying the mobile device.

Our investment in the latest security systems is substantial and ongoing. Including:

  • Cardholder data being subject to multiple algorithm encryption that exceeds required PCI standards
  • All data is stored on dedicated servers
  • Internally, data is protected by network and physical access controls
  • Even entry for basic site maintenance requires independent authentication by two employees
  • All txttrans sites use intrusion detection and prevention systems
  • We apply DDOS (distributed denial of service) mitigation
  • Firewalls are state-of-the-art from CISCO
